Celebrity Jeopardy Final: Notorious Places (1-19-23)

Here are some more triple stumpers from the 1/19/2023 Celebrity Jeopardy! game. Please don’t put the answers to these clues in the comments so people who missed the game can have a chance to answer them. It is okay to refer to them by category and clue value or by part of the clue.

Now here is a funny part from the Double Jeopardy! round where Brendan and Cari had on shoes that turned up in clues. B.J. found that very unfair– wearing the answer to a clue shouldn’t be allowed. Actually, Cari got the clue about the shoes Brendan had on. Brendan got the clue about the shoes that Cari was wearing earlier in the round:

SHOE BIZ ($1000) Whether they’re 6-inch heels, flats or flip-flops, shoes from this designer have the iconic red soles

But we noticed something else about the “blue suede shoes” clue. Cari response of “suede shoes” was accepted. “More specifically,” Mayim started and they both said “blue suede shoes” at the same time.

Later, in the Triple Jeopardy! round, Brendan was ruled wrong for saying “big hat” to the following clue. “Red hat” was what they were looking for.

2 WORDS, 3 LETTERS EACH ($1500) When the Pope makes someone a cardinal, he’s said to give them this item to wear

Mayim couldn’t ask Brendan to be more specific because he already said “big”. She acknowledged that the hat “may” be big, but for cardinals, it has to be red. This Wikipedia article on the galero (the big hat) says that Pope Paul VI ended the use of the galero by decree in 1969. Since then, cardinals etiher get the smaller zucchetto or biretta.
