Cardinals Beat Seahawks in Seattle; Increase Lead in NFC West

The Seattle Seahawks are clearly not the team they were last season. The Seahawks hosted the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday night November 15th in a key matchup in the NFC West. The Cardinals entered the game at 6-2; while Seattle was 4-4. Last season, the Seahawks easily swept their two games with the Cardinals, and with Arizona having some difficulty with good teams on the road, this looked like a good opportunity to close the gap in the standings.

But the high scoring Arizona offense was in top form. QB Carson Palmer overcame two costly fumbles and threw for 363 yards and three touchdowns in the Cardinals 39-32 victory. Seattle is now one of six teams with a 4-5 record in the NFC, and with the Cardinals widening their lead in the division, the Seahawks will have to turn it around quickly to make the playoffs in any capacity. Seattle’s remaining schedule includes home games against Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and St. Louis, plus road games at Baltimore and Minnesota. They finish the regular season at Arizona. Minnesota and Arizona are both 7-2, Pittsburgh is 6-4, and the others have sub-.500 records.
