Bucks Beat Heat, Clinch Top Seed in NBA Eastern Conference

The Milwaukee Bucks overcame a 23 point first half deficit to come back and beat the Miami Heat 130-116 on August 6th. The Bucks clinched the top seed in the Eastern Conference for the second straight year. The Los Angeles Lakers had already clinched the top seed in the Western Conference.

Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kris Middleton each scored 33 points for the Bucks. Duncan Robinson scored 21 and Tyler Herro had 20 for Miami, who had seven players score in double figures. Miami scored 73 in the first half, thanks in large part to hot three point shooting. That hot hand cooled down in the second half, while Milwaukee surged forward, outscoring Miami 38-18 in the fourth quarter.

This was the first win for Milwaukee in three regular season games against Miami. Having essentially lost 2 1/2 out of three games to Miami, there should be some concern for the Bucks regarding a possible playoff series down the road against the Heat, who are currently the #4 seed in the East. Still, the big comeback should give Milwaukee a little more confidence.
