Britain’s Mo Farah Wins 2nd Straight World Track Championship in the 10,000 Meters
The 2015 World Track and Field Championships are underway in Beijing, giving us a sneak preview of some of the athletes we’ll see in next year’s Olympics. In the 10,000 meters, defending Olympic Gold Medalist Mo Farah of Great Britain appears to be ready to defend his title.
Farah held off Kenyans Geoffrey Kamworor, Paul Tanui, and Bedan Muchiri to win the 10,000. It was his second straight world title in the event (the International Association of Athletics Federations, or IAAF holds the World Championships every two years; Farah won the 2013 title) to go with his 2012 Olympic Gold.
Farah will also try to repeat as 5000 meter World Champion in these Beijing Worlds. He won the gold at the London Games in 2012 in that event also.
