Christian Yellich Belts Three Home Runs in Brewers’ 10-7 Win Over Cardinals

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yellich, the 2018 National League Most Valuable Player, went two games in a row without a hit over the weekend. He decided to take some extra batting practice before Milwaukee’s game with the St. Louis Cardinals on April 15th and it paid off.

Yellich hit three home runs, two of which were three run shots, plus a solo home run, driving in a career high seven runs in the Brewers’ 10-7 win over the Cardinals. In five games against the Cardinals, Yellich has seven homers and 15 RBIs. After the game, his season stats for the Brewers’ first 17 games were a .354 batting average, eight homers, 22 RBIs, and an OPS of 1.223.

With the victory, the Brewers improved to 11-6 and are in first place in the N.L. Central, a game and a half ahead of both Pittsburgh and St. Louis.
