Arnold Schwarzenegger on Jay Leno

“I’ve known you 35 years. What the hell were you thinking?” Jay Leno exclaimed after thanking Arnold Schwarzenegger for appearing on his show.

Leno asked him if he watched the 60 Minutes interview. Schwarzenegger said he felt really great as they went through the positive aspects of his life:  the immigrant story, the show business, the bodybuilding, the politics but “then when it got to the scandal, I tell you, it was very tough to do the interview and to be questioned by Leslie Stahl, and it was probably even more painful to watch it.” He said the whole thing was very embarrassing. But, he says, the whole thing is his doing and he has to bear the consequences of it.

Leno asked him if it was true that his book tour was an “Apology Tour,” as the New York Times called it. Schwarzenegger said not at all. He said thousands of fans have waited in line “all night” and he just talks to everyone about everything he’s done.

Here’s TMZ’s take on the book:

Leno asked him if not looking back is really a flaw but Schwarzenegger said he was always a very driven person, who always had big visions in front of him and goals and he chased those goals and he chased those visions — and apparently, he chased a lot of women around, too, but he didn’t say that.

One thing we’ve not seen anyone ask him so far is if he cares at all about his son by Mildred Baena.

If he thinks it’s painful to watch his own scandal, imagine how the kid feels, hearing himself repeatedly referred to as a personal mistake.

You suck, Arnold!
