Alabama Beats Ohio State in College Football Championship
It was a season unlike any other in college football, but it ended the way several have, with Alabama as the National Champion. Alabama took down Ohio State 52-24 on January 11th for the Crimson Tides’ 18th National Championship, and sixth under coach Nick Saban.
Wide receiver DeVonta Smith showed why he was this year’s Heisman Trophy winner by catching 12 passes for 215 yards and three touchdowns, most of which were in the first half. Smith missed much of the second half with a hand injury. Alabama QB Mac Jones threw for 464 yards and five touchdowns.
Alabama finishes at 13-0 in a season, and none of the wins were even close. The Crimson Tide averaged 45.5 points per game, while allowing 19.5.
