Kevin got the Jeopardy! round Daily Double in “Labyrinthine” under the $1,000 clue on the very last pick of the round. He was in the lead with $6,600, $5,600 more than Ryan in second place. He bet $1,000 and he was RIGHT.
The 4 famous labyrinths mentioned by Pliny the Elder were in Italy, Egypt, Lemnos & of course, this Greek island. show
Kevin finished in the lead with $7,600. Ryan was second with $1,000 and Hannah was in negative territory at -$400.
Round 2 Categories: New TV – From the Big-Box Store – 65″ – Plasma – “H.D.” – Picture in Picture
Hannah found the first Daily Double in “Plasma” under the $1,600 clue, with 6 clues left after it. She was in second place with $10,400 at this point, $4,000 less than Kevin’s lead. She bet $2,000 and went with gamma rays. That was WRONG.
Most of the visible universe, like the sun & stars is plasma; on earth you’ll see it in lightning & these polar spectacles. show
Ryan landed on the last Daily Double in “Picture in Picture” under the $1,200 clue. There were only 3 clues worth $5,600 left after it. In third place with $7,000, he had $7,400 less than Kevin’s lead. He made it a true Daily Double and he was RIGHT.

Ryan finished in the lead with $17,600. Kevin was next with $12,400 and Hannah was in third place with $8,800.

The 1955 monument to Leonidas and the Greeks who died with him at the 480 B.C. Battle of Thermopylae features a bronze figure of Leonidas atop a base with reliefs of scenes and epigrams from the famous battle. Realm of History has an account of the battle that attempts to separate fact from fiction. Perhaps the cliffs referred to in the clue were more visible in 1955, but a contributor on TripAdvisor says you’ll be disappointed if you go there expecting a coastline with cliffs. However, the photo gallery over there is certainly worth a look-see.

Hannah went with Agamemnon. She didn’t bet anything so she stayed put at $8,800.
Kevin thought it was Achilles. He lost his $5,201 bet, for a $7,199 finish.
Ryan came up with Achilles, too. That cost him his $7,201 bet. He had $10,399 left and that was good enough to win today! Ryan’s 4-day total is $107,049. What an amazing and exciting turnaround that was.

The $1000 clue in States by Counties was also a triple stumper. THe players didn’t not get North Dakota when spotted Grand Forks.
Yeah, I didn’t get that either. This was the clue:
STATE OF THE COUNTIES: Enjoy the great Divide, get held for Ransom, then pick up Grand Forks
It made it sound like the one county’s name was Great Divide but it’s just Divide. It’s up in the top left corner of the state.
They should have said “Get held up for Ransom, then Sioux …”
I hope he might win his 5th game tomorrow.

That would have made me think of you anyhow because of the conversation we had on this post and the clue you wrote 🤣🤣 … in a bigger coincidence, I was watching this game with my granddaughter who was learning about this artist at that time. I said to her: “you know this” and she did!!

FJ was another clue that I was able to come up with the correct answer after 30 seconds. May have gotten it sooner if I had not checked after just waking up at 3:00 AM.
For whatever reason, like the contestants, mythological characters were what first came to mind even though I knew it was likely an historical person.
Yes, JP, I think reading the clue after just waking up is probably the best way to not get it in 30 seconds. LOL!! (Although there are very easy and wheelhouse exceptions)
Sad that no one knew FJ but still a great play today by Ryan. Although the responses were close, this should not have been a triple stumper. Also VJ you’ve heard of the FJ answer, right? But still though glad that Hannah didn’t bet anything. I’m really hoping this four game curse doesn’t affect Ryan’s fifth game tomorrow.
