WHAT IS REGINA?
According to the Canadian Encyclopedia, Princess Louise, the 4th daughter of Britain’s royal couple, Victoria and Albert, renamed the Canadian city Pile O- Bones in her mother’s honor, “Regina” being Latin for “queen.” At the time (1882, it seems), Princess Louise was married to the 4th Governor General of Canada, John Campbell, and held the title vice-regal consort.
Good to know: The province of Alberta was named in honor of Princess Louise, as was Lake Louise and Mount Alberta
Steven thought it was Edmondton (Alberta). He lost his $4,133 bet and finished with $2,667.
Allison got it right. She doubled her score to $20,000.
Brendan went with Victoria (British Columbia). He lost $4,500 and won the game with $20,500. His 2-day total is $58,700.

Regina, Canada reminds me of Doug Hicton. In the IBM challenge he was up against Maria Wenglinsky. She was in the Battle of the Decades. And so was Celeste DiNucci. She mentioned him saying he gave her a shirt after winning the tournament in 2007 for her brother Dennis to redeem the family after losing up against Jerome Vered.
The Brendan Roach that won 2 games reminds me of the Brendan Roche, different spelling on the last name, that also won 2 games back in 2002, and won a grand total of $25,100, but this Brendan won more than twice that total.
So we finished this week with only a three time champ, no triple solves and brendan retaining the champ. If James was still around he would have gotten this. But still congratulations to Brendan once again. Just hope he can build a streak going before the teen tournament. But still Edmonton wasn’t a bad guess. What was your opinion about this game ,VJ?
I thought it was a good game, Lou. I just wished Brendan had bet zero in FJ. He probably wished the same. lol
