LeBron James Leads Cavaliers to Overtime Playoff Win at Toronto

The Toronto Raptors have been eliminated in the NBA playoffs by the Cleveland Cavaliers the last two seasons, but this year, the Raptors have home court advantage in their second round matchup against LeBron and Company. Toronto had a record of 34-7 at home, tied with the Houston Rockets for the best home record in the NBA.

In Game 1 of the series on May 1st, the Raptors led by 14 points at the end of the first quarter, and held the lead during almost the entire game. Almost. But Toronto’s shooting ran cold later in the fourth quarter (5 for 19) and Cleveland caught up, tying the score at 105-105 on a James basket with 30.9 seconds left. That score held and the teams went to overtime. In the extra period, Tristan Thompson gave Cleveland a 113-107 on a basket with 2:17 left, and the Cavaliers held on for a 113-112 victory. LeBron James had a triple double (26 points, 13 assists, 11 rebounds) to lead Cleveland. DeMar DeRozan led Toronto with 22 points while Jonas Valanciunas had 21 points and 21 rebounds.

Game 2 of the series is in Toronto on May 3rd, before the scene shifts to Cleveland. The Raptors were 25-16 on the road, and 0-2 at Cleveland during the regular season.
