NONE of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.
Here is the whole quote from Mike Godwin’s 10/1/1994 article “Meme, Counter-Meme”— “A ‘meme,’ of course, is an idea that functions in a mind the same way a gene or virus functions in the body. And an infectious idea (call it a ‘viral meme’) may leap from mind to mind, much as viruses leap from body to body.”
It brings back the memory of Lilly Chin’s FJ response in the final match of the 2017 College Championship, doesn’t it? That certainly went viral!
Mary wrote down “I heart NY.” She lost her $6,101 bet, leaving her with $299.
Kate came up with “cool.” She lost $10,000 and finished with $2,500.
Alan wrote down “yike.” His $8,246 bet dropped him down to $8,509, enough to win today and remain champ. Alan’s 2-day total is $23,710.
Reversal: WINNING CLAMS AT THE CASINO ($800) The race & sports book has special cards to let you do this to your winnings, plow them right into the next wager. – Alan got credit for his response of “let it ride,” initially rejected because they wanted “parlay.”

Quand même?
Meme is not hard to recognize, but to not remember for any of the contestants that is just weird. I’m glad that Alan won again. But do you use memes VJ? It’s very useful in emails and everything else. Plus i hope we will let Alan win a streak of games before March starts. He has that calming personality and knows how to bet small
Nah, I don’t use them, Lou. People send them to me now and then but not a lot, like those forwards people used to send all the time..
I got a kick out of Mary’s $600 response in the Wedding Gifts category, esp since kryptonite was the first thing I thought of, too. 🙂 I put that whole category in the extra clues.

So did I, VJ!
So funny, Rhonda. 😀 😀 😀 “Happy Anniversary, my love,” then pull out a glowing green lump of kryptonite.
