Jace found the Jeopardy! round Daily Double in “When in Dome” under the $800 clue on the 2nd pick of the round. He was in the lead with a hot $200. No one else had any money. WHO IS DAVID HOCKNEY?

British artist, David Hockney first visited Los Angeles in January 1964. His biography relates his first impression of Los Angeles swimming pools while he was flying into the city: “…I looked down to see blue swimming pools all over, and I realised that a swimming pool in England would have been a luxury, whereas here they are not, because of the climate.” Thus he was inspired to create a series of swimming pool paintings and his reference to L.A. as “the land of swimming pools” has been quoted many times. See the illustrated chronology of David Hockney’s life by decade on his website.

Lena wrote down Hirst (who was born in 1965). She lost her $1,998 bet and finished with $2,802.

Jace had Andy Warhol (who was American). That cost him $1,799 and left him with $9,601.

Abigail had Hirst, too, including his first name (Damien). She lost her $2,000 bet but the $10,200 she kept on reserve won the match. Abigail’s 2-day total is $39,200.

It was clear all right. She even emphasized the g sound at the end of her answer.

No one remembers David Hockney from 1964, and no one cares.

  3. Mike says:

Did anyone notice that one of Abigail’s answers in the “DEB-8” category was “Debug”? They credited her with a correct answer, but it doesn’t have 8 letters???

    • VJ says:

Just listened to my recording of the show. I heard her say “debugged” very clearly.

  4. VJ says:

So, in this game I thought it would have been a lot more helpful to have a picture of the artist to go with that final clue than the unnecessary picture that went with the Boy General clue.

When Jace heard Abigail’s bet, he reacted like his first instinct was to stay pat and he wished he had!!

A great play by Abby Myers. Although I.would never have guessed.Hockney. still let’s hope Abby gets tomorrows final right, don’t you agree VJ? Also, was Jace trying to use the same strategy Arthur did in his game run?

    • VJ says:

@Lou, idk if Jace had Arthur’s strategy in mind in particular but he sure was bouncing around. I felt like Alex jinxed that game from the get-go talking about how Abigail’s $29K win yesterday brought their average payout back up again. Well, Jace still gave Abigail a great challenge today.

After her performance yesterday, I am hoping she has a long run, but there were a lot of clues that went unanswered today. I think I’ll just chalk that up to the whammy Alex put on the game and keep hoping. LOL!!
