SMU Wins 12th Straight, Maintains Lead Over Cincinnati in American Conference

Southern Methodist University’s basketball team has been under the radar while putting together a fine season slowly climbing in the rankings. The 14th ranked Mustangs took on Tulsa on March 2nd and easily took care of the Golden Hurricane by a score of 93-70. All five Mustang starters scored in double figures.

SMU improved to 26-4 overall, and 16-1 in the American Conference. The victory clinched a share of the regular season conference title. The Mustangs only conference loss has been to Cincinnati; they’ve split two games with the Bearcats (26-4, 15-2). A victory over Memphis (19-11, 9-8) in the regular season finale on March 4th will give SMU the title outright.
