Brawl Breaks Out at NYPD FDNY Charity Hockey Game

The New York Police Department took on the Fire Department in an annual charity benefit hockey game April 6th at the Nassau Coliseum on Long Island. The Coliseum is home to the NHL’s New York Islanders, and during the game a brawl broke out between the two teams that would have made any NHL fan proud.

The fight took place in the second period with the score tied 3-3. It took 25 minutes for the bench clearing brawl to get under control and penalties handed out. Eventually, the game resumed with the NYPD winning 8-5 to end a five game winning streak by the FDNY.

Wow, these guys are intense. We have no information on the attendance at this year’s game, but we’re betting it will be way up for next year’s game. We don’t know if these two departments have boxing teams, but if they do, we’d also bet they’d do pretty good on pay per view.
