White Horse Pike Supporting Cast: Boardwalk Empire
Here are some of the actors who appeared in Episode 10 (White Horse Pike) of Boardwalk Empire, Season 4
A lot of dead bodies in Atlantic City and Chicago in this episode but only one major character — Chalky White (Michael Kenneth Williams) — took a bullet, and it didn’t kill him. Richard Harrow (Jack Huston) tells Chalky the bullet went straight through him based on his thorough knowledge of gunshot victims (some of whom were probably his own doing). Chalky’s injury resulted from his stupidly turning his back on the Universal Negro Improvement Association storefront after he and his men bombarded the place with gunfire. His main target, Dr. Valentin Narcisse (Jeffrey Wright) managed to dodge every single bullet that flew by him and he is the one who clipped Chalky. No way to tell who the dead bodies were in that scene but Narcisse did tell Nucky Thompson (Steve Buscemi) that he lost 3 men. Chalky’s crew took some lead, too. Daughter Maitland (Margot Bingham) cast her lot with Chalky, even though he told her to take a train out West where she can be safe, and the two survive another attempt on their lives, this time courtesy of Narcisse and Mayor Bader (Kevin O’Rourke). Of course, Chalky and Daughter surviving means the two deputies didn’t. But as far as Chalky knows, Nucky sent the deputies so he may think that he’s been betrayed by Nucky, who did shake hands with Narcisse on a heroin deal, but did he mean it?
In Chicago, Al Capone (Stephen Graham) narrowly avoids the undertaker when gunmen give him a call to say goodbye right before opening fire from across the street. Al and his brother Ralph (Domenick Lombardozzi) believe that George Mueller aka Nelson Van Alden (Michael Shannon) had a hand in O’Banion’s demise so he is now with them and he saves Al Capone’s bacon. Ralph Capone came out alive too, as did the chubby blonde hooker Al Capone was pushing up on. There were some dead bodies in the other room but the Capones, St. Peter and Satan are probably the only ones who know who they were. Now Al Capone needs to find out if the gunmen were sent by Hymie Weiss (Will Janowitz, who did not appear in this episode); or his own boss, Johnny Torrio (Greg Antonacci) who was a little pissed off at Capone divvying up the O’Banion speaks without consulting him.
In New York City, Patch Darragh put in another appearance as Mr. Bennett, Margaret Rohan Thompson’s (Kelly Macdonald) unscrupulous boss. He may think Arnold Rothstein (Michael Stuhlbarg) is dumber than a doornail, but Rothstein has the perspicacity to deduce Margaret’s most immediate need – decent lodging for her children. We see her daughter Emily (Josie and Lucy Gallina) and son Teddy (Declan and Rory McTigue) for a few seconds, both sleeping in the same room as Ma. Teddy doesn’t even have a bed! So Margaret strikes a bargain with Rothstein so the kids can have their own rooms.
The Sins of Margaret Rohan Schroeder Thompson
Eric Ladin made another appearance as J. Edgar Hoover, continuing to give short shrift to Agent Tolliver (undercover id: Knox). When, oh when, will Hoover recognize Tolliver’s worth? Uh, never… Hoover seems to enjoy sticking it to Tolliver.
