12-12-12 is Number 12 Aaron Rodgers Day in Wisconsin

These days, it seems like Republicans and Democrats can’t agree that the sky is blue, it’s worth noting so when a resolution passes a state legislature unanimously.  This was the case last spring, when the Wisconsin legislature passed a resolution designating December 12, 2012 as Aaron Rodgers Day in Wisconsin.  Rodgers, of course, is the Green Bay Packers quarterback who was the NFL’s Most Valuable Player in the 2011-12 season, and who led the Packers to victory in the Super Bowl the season before.

Workplaces will be filled with people wearing seasonally appropriate green Rodgers shirts or other Packers gear.  If there is anything that unites people across the political spectrum anywhere, it’s support for the local sports teams.  Nowhere is there a better illustration of this than Wisconsin’s love for the Green Bay Packers.

Rodgers said he’s honored by the resolution.  Going into 12-12-12, the Packers are 9-4 and in first place in the NFC North Division.  The Packers got off to a rocky start in 2012, but have caught fire and can wrap up the North title with a victory at Chicago on December 16th.
