WHAT ARE GREAT BRITAIN & IRELAND?

The North Channel is a strait that lies between the northeastern part of Northern Ireland and the southwestern part of Scotland. It connects the Irish Sea to the Atlantic Ocean. Names have been given to the various proposals to build a bridge or tunnel between the 2 islands over the years, such as the Irish Sea Bridge, referring to the 21 miles between Portpatrick in Scotland and Larne in Northern Ireland. Geography 360’s video “Real Reason There Is No Bridge Between Great Britain and Ireland” looks at all the pros and cons of the project and, aside from the eye-popping cost, concludes that environmental experts will continue to oppose the project: “It’s not just about the dangers we can see. It’s about the long-term damage we might cause without even realizing it.”

Did you know? There’s another geographic area called the North Channel right here in North America. It’s part of Lake Huron.

Mikey went with Iceland & Greenland. He lost $2,316 and finished with $684.

Maggie thought it was Australia & Tasmania. She lost $1,400 and finished with $6,000.

Jamie came up with Big & Little Diomede in the Bering Strait. He lost $12,589 but won the game with $31,611. That gives Jamie a 17-day total of $494,012.
