Pistons Start the Second String but Still Win Their Eighth Straight
The Detroit Pistons showed off their depth in their game with the Chicago Bulls on November 12th. Detroit’s normal starting five were all given the night off to recover from injuries, but the backups pulled off a 124-113 victory. It was the eighth straight win for the Pistons, who improved top an NBA Eastern Conference best record of 10-2.
Paul Reed led Detroit with 28 points and 13 rebounds, and Duncan Robinson scored 23. Daniss Jenkins scored 18 and led the team with 12 assists. The Pistons are an emerging power in the NBA. Detroit made the playoffs last year for the first time since the 2018-19 season, finishing at 44-38. The team was just 14-68 a year earlier, and hadn’t finished about .500 since 2015-16.
