WHAT IS OCCUPY WALL STREET?
The Occupy Wall Street protest that began on 9/17/2011 was the brainchild of Kalle Lasn, co-founder of Adbusters, a Canadian anti-consumerist publication. Lasn and other collaborators cooked up the idea of “A Million Man March on Wall Street” and by June of 2011, registered the OccupyWallStreet.org web address. Protesting wealth inequality and social injustices stemming therefrom were illuustrated by the catchphrase : “We are the 99%”.” This YouTube video explains who the 1% are.
The missing words from today’s clue are “flood into lower Manhattan,” obviously left out to not give too much away. However, as this 10/13/2011 CBS news report shows, the Occupy movement exploded across the USA in record time.
Jaedon wrote down “Love you, Mom.” He lost $1,601 and finished with $4,799.
Natalie got it right. She bet $6,000 and finished with $14,000.
Steven also got it right. He bet $93 and won the game with $17,293. Steven’s 4-day total is $74,382.

A triple stumper from each round:
A PHRASE IN HISTORY ($1000) Historian Estelle Paranque places 1547, when the boy Edward VI succeeded Henry VIII, as the year these 8 words caught on
DO YOU LIKE PHOTOGRAPHY? ($1200) Many professional photographers today use a digital SLR, short for this type of camera

The one country singer’s clue they didn’t get at least had the name of one of his songs. I wondered if it would have made a difference if the other clue mentioned that he wrote Me and Bobby McGee.
“Freedom’s just another word for nothing left to lose” What a great lyric!
Oh, you know it, my friend! I was almost yelling at the TV! Seriously, for all the other stuff the dude knows, that one seemed to be easy!
I was 3/3 on DD, but, could only get “Wall Street”. I was just searching my mind, and just could NOT come up with it!
Oh, and, two days late, but, Howard, my friend, La Shana Tova!
Thanks for the 2nd time. You actually wrote that last Saturday and said it was one day late, but it was actually a couple of days early. Truth be told, I don’t celebrate holidays. I tolerated Christmas and Easter because they were important to my wife.
Another runaway, but mainly because Steven missed that last DD (which I’m sure Dr Jason knew). I got only the middle one. Got Final after a few seconds, but wasn’t 100% certain.
They left some very gettable clues out there: the SLR camera; the legendary singer-composer-actor; the other singer-songwriter; the French port city; and the David Lean classic, which I finally saw 50+ years after its release.
