Leonard Scores 39, Clippers Beat Nuggets

Kawhi Leonard is one of those players who is great when he plays, but has been injured a lot over the course of his career, limiting his games played. The 33 year old forward was limited to 37 games this season due to a bad knee, but averaged 21.5 points per game in those 37 contests. Game 2 of the Los Angeles Clippers-Denver Nuggets 1st round playoff series on April 21st showed that when he’s on the floor, he can still play as well as ever.

Leonard scored 39 points to lead all scorers as the Clippers beat the Nuggets 105-102 in Denver, evening the series at a game each. James Harden scored 18 and Ivica Zubac had a 16 point, 12 rebound double double for L.A. Nikola Jokic had a triple double (26 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists) for Denver, and Jamal Murray added 23 points. Denver was just 11-11 in March and April, while the Clippers were 18-5, including an eight game winning streak to close out the season. The Clippers and Nuggets split their four regular season games.

Game 3 of this series is April 24th in Los Angeles.
