WHO IS F. SCOTT FITZGERALD?
The Encyclopedia of Alabama has a post on Camp Sheridan. There’s a picture of the 9th Infantry Division with Lt. F. Scott Fitzgerald in the middle. His meeting with future wife Zelda Sayre is mentioned and there’s a link to the Montgomery-born debutante’s own page on the website.
Zelda’s page makes a big deal of Fitzgerald’s obsession with her, also bringing up the plagiarism allegations that is part of their history. However, left out is Fitzgerald’s doomed love affair with Chicago debutante Ginevra King, generally believed to be the model for Daisy Buchanan. Fitzgerald joined the Army when it seemed all hope was lost, although he still wrote to Ginevra while courting Zelda. When it came to plagiarism, Ginevra had her own suspicions of Fitzgerald. When you put the whole thing together, you might get the idea that F. Scott Fitzgerald was a conniving social climber!
Avi thought it was William Faulkner. He lost $7,233 and finished with $4,367.
Amy crossed Faulkner out and went with Ernest Hemingway. She lost $10,000 and finished with $4,200.
Luigi also had Faulkner. He only lost $4,801 so he won the semifinal spot with $18,799. Three more quarterfinals to go until the semifinals begin.

I got FJ! thanks to an Amazon series called Z: The Beginning of Everything, with Christina Ricci in the title role. It was originally on Prime. According to its IMDB page, there’s a lot of places you can stream it now.
It was another great and competitive game with Luigi finishing in the lead. Well, I went with William Faulkner too for FJ.
We begin the week with a triple stumper since today’s final was tough.
Avi wagered $7,233, and he was left with $4,367.
