Only ONE of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.
WHO ARE TALKING HEADS?
David Byrne, Chris Franz, Tina Weymouth and Jerry Harrison were the Talking Heads, a popular ’80s band often classified as art rock. Chris and Tina are the two who have been married since 1977. In 2023, Chris and Tina embarked on a conversational tour they named “Remain in Love”. The name is a play on the title of the Talking Heads’ 4th studio album “Remain in Light”. Perhaps there was a sentimental reason there since Chris and Tina designed the album’s cover. It is also the name of a book written by Chris Franz, who narrates the audio version.
Chris and Tina have been married as long as Jeff Bridges and his wife. (I just added them to my list of Celebrities and Long Marriages.)
Meredith went with Fleetwood Mac. She lost $4,500 and finished with $1,500.
Jay got it right. He added $5,401 to finish with $12,001.
Micah had no response. He lost $5,201 and finished with with $2,799. So Jay Fisher won the game from second place on the first day he got Final Jeopardy right. Jay’s 3-day total is $28,200.
A triple stumper from each round. (Please don’t put the answers in the comments)
THAT’S “AA”WESOME ($1000) This region is mentioned in Phoenician writings from about 1500 B.C. as a land west of the Jordan River

Maybe surprisingly, in 1918 this new leader was the first to recognize the independence of Finland show

Darn, no show tonight. Convention ran 80 minutes over, then ABC affiliate showed 2 other shows then went to the local news.
Got all 3 DDs from the recap, missed FJ. Should have known that one, mostly because the band did a big talk session a few months ago, on Colbert I think.
Some stumpers were attainable: the -re/-er word; beach job (how many beach jobs are there?); TV drama; section of Algiers.
I understand both guys’ wagers but haven’t quite figured out Meredith’s yet.
I meant to call my son and tell him to watch the show. I know he would’ve known the book with the Walking Dude, and it was because of him that I predicted 1 right response for FJ! But I fell asleep. When I woke up, it was over up there or maybe even preempted.
I’ll ask him when he calls me Saturday. (He calls me most Saturday but this particular Saturday is my birthday so, yeah, he’s gonna call for sure)
3/3 on DD and got FJ. I was hoping that Micah would get it, but, oh well!
Hi, not sure if you saw my late comment from prior show, but I mentioned that “Garp” author was John Irving. (Hopefully you don’t mistake one internal organ for another, LOL.)
I went back and saw that. Thanks. And, organs not paired don’t resemble others too much!
Did anybody else guess ABBA for the Final?
It was my first thought, Albert, but I knew both couples were divorced
Finally Jay got Final Jeopardy correct for the first time. He needed that in order to win his third game. Tomorrow is the sixth to last game of Season 40. Whoever wins tomorrow will get to enter the final week of Season 40 as a champion.
Here’s a little trick I learned in H.S. for knowing the difference between those things in Carlsbad Canyon. The one with “G” is on the ground; the one with “C” is on the ceiling.
VJ, that’s the mnemonic device I used, too.
I learned stalagTite is Top and therefore stalagmite is ground.
I guess that could work as long as you can remember that the top one doesn’t have a G in it. It’s stalaCtite. That’s why the C for ceiling is better.
