American League Wins All Star Game Again

National League pitchers held the American League All Stars to just five hits, but one of those was a two run home run by Jarren Duran of the Boston Red Sox and the American League beat the National League in the All Star Game 5-3 in Arlington, Texas on July 16th. It was the 10th win for the A.L. in the last 11 games.

Duran was named the Most Valuable Player of the game. Juan Soto of the Yankees drove in two runs for the A.L., and Cleveland’s David Fry drove in the other. Shohei Ohtani of the Dodgers hit a three run homer for the N.L. Cincinnati’s Hunter Greene, who gave up the homer to Duran, took the loss, while Oakland’s Mason Miller was credited with the victory. Cleveland closer Emmanuel Clase pitched a scoreless ninth inning for a save.

All the clubs return to action on Friday July 19th, except for Milwaukee and Minnesota, who will open a two game interleague series on July 20th in Minnesota.
