Mavericks Stay Alive in NBA Finals with 122-84 Blowout Win Over Celtics
Facing a four game sweep, the Dallas Mavericks brought their A Game and then some into Game 4 of the NBA Finals on June 14th in Dallas. Luka Doncic played well on both sides of the ball, scoring 29 points with five rebounds, five assists, and three steals in just 33 minutes to lead the Mavericks to a 122-84 win over the Boston Celtics.
Doncic had been heavily criticized for his defense, his fouling out with 4:12 left in the game in Game 3, and his complaining to the officials. But he stepped up his game in all phases in this one. Kyrie Irving scored 21 and ended his 13 game personal losing streak against his former team. As a team, the Mavericks shot 50.5% from the floor and 40.5% from three point range.
Game 5 is on June 17th in Boston. The Celtics will get a chance to win their 18th NBA title in front of their home crowd. If they lose, Game 6 will be in Dallas on June 20th. Game 7 if necessary is in Boston on June 23rd.
