Corey Seager’s Home Run Bat Stays Hot, Rangers Sweep Two from Diamondbacks

Corey Seager hit a two run home run to lead the Texas Rangers to a 6-1 win over the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks on May 29th. Seager hit a three run homer in the Rangers’ 4-2 victory over Arizona the night before as Texas swept a two game series over the Diamondbacks in a rematch of last year’s World Series.

Seager is on a home run hitting spree, with eight in his last eight games. He hasn’t homered in eight straight games, as he had one game without a homer followed by a game with two homers. Texas has won three in a row, but lost the first five of those eight games. Before that three game winning streak the Rangers were in a tailspin, losing 12 of 14. No one is running away with the American League West at this point; Texas (27-29) is in 2nd place, three games behind Seattle (31-27). Houston is 25-32, Oakland is 23-35, and the Los Angeles Angels bring up the rear at 21-34.

The Rangers will try to keep the winning streak alive with a three game series in Miami May 31st-June 2nd. The Marlins are 20-37 this season, and last in the National League East.
