Denver Takes 2-1 lead in NBA Finals behind Triple Doubles From Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray

After a nine point victory over the Miami Heat in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, the Denver Nuggets seemed to ease up on the throttle in Game 2, blowing a 15 point lead and losing to Miami 111-108 for Denver’s first home loss since March 30th. Coach Michael Malone criticized the team for lack of effort.

Apparently, the message was received. Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray both had triple doubles and the Nuggets won big 109-94 over the Heat in Game 3 in Miami. Murray scored 34 points and had 10 rebounds and 10 assists, while Jokic scored 32 with 21 rebounds and 10 assists. This was the first time two teammates had 30 point triple doubles in NBA history, playoffs or regular season. Jokic’s 30-20-10 was the first ever such line in an NBA Finals game. Jimmy Butler led Miami with 28, and Bam Adebayo scored 22 and had 17 rebounds.
