Sacramento Kings End 16 Year Playoff Drought

Malik Monk scored 19 points and Domantas Sabonis had a double double with 15 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Sacramento Kings to a crushing 120-80 victory over the Trail Blazers in Portland on March 29th. Besides the point margin, this victory was a big one for the Kings; the team broke a 16 year playoff drought. For the first time since 2006, Sacramento will play in the post season. This was the longest post season drought in the four major North American sports leagues.

The Kings improved to 46-30, good for third place in the Western Conference standings behind Denver and Memphis. The Kings lead the Pacific Division by five games over the Phoenix Suns, so they are pretty much a lock to win their division. Sacramento is winning both at home and on the road; the Kings are 23-16 at home and 23-14 on the road. Only Denver (19-18) and the Los Angeles Clippers (20-18) are over .500 on the road in the Western Conference.
