WHO IS JOSEPHINE BAKER?
Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, 19-year-old Josephine Baker went to Paris in 1925 and was soon the toast of the town. There she found something more precious to her than celebrity– a society that was not segregated. During World War II, Josephine honored her adopted country by joining the French Resistance. She continued to fight against racism and oppression throughout her entire adult life. On 11/30/2021, French President Emmanuel Macron installed a centotaph in her honor in France’s Panthéon, where France’s greatest heroes are interred. Her family supporting bestowing this great honor upon her but refused to have her remains moved and actually buried there. France24 quotes one of her sons: “Our mother is resting next to our father and one of their sons, also close to Grace of Monaco, whom she loved dearly and who helped her when she was ruined at the end of her life. So it is out of the question to move her.”

Final was easy–if you knew it. A tough person to come up with if you didn’t.
Didn’t matter in the long run, but Joey had a chance to seize the lead from a tough champion, but wimped out on his DD wager. He was on quite a roll at the time. As they say in boxing, you have to knock out the champion to take his title; you likely won’t win on points.
Seems to me they left a few on the table that at least one player should have known. The time-telling contraction; Lakers slogan; British Woodstock; and the Auburn Heisman winner.
The J! website is allowing anyone to take the “Anytime” online test today, even if you took it already this year. They won’t reveal the score or answers, but it wasn’t that tough. I’m sure I got at least 40/50. Earlier tonight they showed the pilot episode from 1964 on their Youtube page.
Yesterday, I thought that there were at least a few clues Jackie knew the answer to but didn’t bother to buzz in because she had such a big lead. Whether that was true or not, she couldn’t afford to do that today with Joey moving up on her runaway status.
Thanks for noting that the Anytime test was available for everyone. I took it a couple weeks ago, and felt I didn’t do as well as I would have expected.
I just took it again and did much better.
Jackie broke the leader curse and managed to score a spot in the toc. Just hope she does not fall victim to the four game curse. Also I just found something very interesting facts about Josephine Baker. She was actually inducted into the St. Louis walk of fame. Also she starred in her first motion picture Siren of the Tropics way back in 1927 which started her career in movies.
I watched Siren of the Tropics on TCM. Succinctly? It has aged quite poorly. Very much so.
