WHO IS LADY MACBETH?

The quote in today’s Final Jeopardy! comes from the first scene of Act 5 of “Macbeth”. No Fear Shakespeare translates it this way: “People with guilty and deranged minds will confess their secrets to their pillows as they sleep. This woman needs a priest more than a doctor.” The doctor and Lady Macbeth’s gentlewoman are debating whether Lady Macbeth is sleepwalking or not, when Lady Macbeth wanders in, trying to rub away an imaginary spot of blood from her hand. Lady Macbeth also spills the beans (an idiom for revealing secrets) as to why she has blood on her hands.

And that was the last anyone sees of Lady Macbeth, who “takes the pipe” (an idiom for committing suicide) offstage, although Malcolm later says that is a rumor.

Jennie bet $750 and finished with $1,750.

John knew he would finish in second place if he didn’t lose anything so he stuck with his $3,000.

Jackie put $24,000 on the line and it paid off big time: she won the game with $54,800. Jackie Kelly’s 3-day total $91,101. That was A-MAZ-ING!!

Yikes. This was, to me, not a good game for Mayim. Her choppy and halting delivery was distracting. I could imagine, for example, on the NHRA triple stumper, Alex saying “more specific”, versus her (delayed), “No”. She looked unprepared.

Jackie seemed unsure of some of her correct answers. However, head to head with Christine, she wins. I really liked her monster FI bet. Hope tomorrow is more competitive!

Jackie pulled off an impressive win today and i am happy to see all three getting final. Lady Macbeth would be proud seeing these guys knowing her. I remember reading about Shakespeare in 9th grade and one of them was Romeo and Juliet another tragedy play.

Wow, Jackie has been playing like Matt Amodio or Amy Schneider and she totally dominated the buzzer and the game. She is only one win away from getting into the TOC tracker.
