Yes, Auburn was a Wrong Answer on Jeopardy! but How About Steve? He Ran the Category!

In the recap of the Tuesday, Jan 5, 2016 game, we mentioned how Terry almost ran the “Movie Biographies” category in Double Jeopardy! to catch up after a less than promising finish in the first round. Let us not neglect then to congratulate Steve on running the College category. After Terry gave a wrong answer to the first clue, Steve picked it up and went through the rest of the category like a boss.

However, as Alex Trebek predicted, it was Terry’s wrong answer to the first clue that got the most attention. Sports Illustrated ran an article “Jeopardy! Contestant Thinks Auburn’s Nickname is Crimson Tide” with just a clip of that clue. And here are some of the tweets about it:

Usually the audience claps when one player gets all the answers in one category and at least Jay O’Brien noticed on Twitter that Steve didn’t get the applause he should have. (Jay was a contestant in the December 21, 2014 match.)

The Washington Post also noticed that Steve ran the category and that should make him feel good. His Tuesday chat story did not go unnoticed either.

We found out on WBIR.com. that Steve has a twin. Maybe he’ll talk about that during the chat tomorrow.
