Seahawks Defense Stifles Patriots to Win Super Bowl LX 29-13

The Seattle Seahawks defense allowed a league fewest 17.2 points per game during the 2025 season, and they did even better than that in the Super Bowl. The Seahawks relentless defense pressured New England quarterback Drake Maye relentlessly, sacking him six times, intercepting him twice, and forcing him to fumble once on the way to a 29-13 win over the Patriots in Super Bowl LX in Santa Clara, California.

Quarterback Sam Darnold, the much traveled signal caller for Seattle, passed for 202 yards and a touchdown, with no interceptions. The Seahawks allowed no turnovers. Kenneth Walker III rushed for 135 yards and was named the game’s MVP, the first running back so honored since 1997. Jason Meyers booted five field goals in what looked like it would be an all field goal game; the scored was 12-0 Seattle on four field goals going into the fourth quarter.

Darnold completed a 16 yard TD pass to A.J. Barner with 13:24 to go in the fourth, and Maye answered with a 35 yard touchdown completion to Mack Hollins less than a minute later. Myers kicked one more field goal, and Uchenna Nwosu returned a Maye’s interception 45 yards for a touchdown with 4:27 left. Maye threw a touchdown pass to Rhamondre Stevenson with 2:21 left, followed by a missed 2 point conversion to complete the scoring in a 29-13 Seattle victory.

Highlights

The Seahawks avenged their 28-24 loss to New England in Super Bowl XLIX, and improved to 2-2 in Super Bowls. The Patriots are now 6-6 all time in the Big Game, with all six victories being with Tom Brady as quarterback.
