Rangers Beat Panthers to move into tie for 1st in NHL Metro Division
The New York Rangers hosted the Florida Panthers on February 1st in a matchup of two of the top hockey teams in the NHL Eastern Conference. Florida leads the Atlantic Division and the Rangers were in 2nd place, right behind Carolina, in the Metro Division as we close in on the league’s All Star Break.
This one went to the Rangers. Chris Kreider scored a pair of power play goals and had an assist, while Artemi Panarin had a goal and two assists on the way to a 5-2 win over the Panthers.
With the win, the Rangers improved to 30-13-4 (64 points) putting them in a tie with Carolina for 1st place in the Metro. Despite the loss, Florida is assured of the top record in the Conference (32-10-5, 69 points) at the All Star Break. The All Star Game is in Las Vegas on February 5th.
