Phoenix Suns Advance to NBA Finals
The Phoenix Suns advanced to their first NBA Finals since 1993 with a 130-106 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals. Chris Paul led the Suns with 41 points; the 16 year NBA veteran and future Hall of Famer will be playing in his first Finals.
This will be the third trip to the Finals for the Suns, a franchise that entered the league in the 1968-69 season. They are still looking for their first NBA Championship; the Suns lost to the Boston Celtics in 1976 and to the Chicago Bulls in 1993. The playoff frustration continues for the Clippers; the franchise has never reached the Finals in their 51 years of exitance.
The Suns will play the winner of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Milwaukee Bucks and Atlanta Hawks. Phoenix will have home court advantage in the Finals.
