Nikola Jokic Has Historic Triple Double
Three time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets is no stranger to triple doubles. He had his fifth straight triple double on January 23rd, and leads the league with 20 this season. But he outdid himself in that 20th performance.
Jokic scored 35 points, grabbed 22 rebounds, and had a season high 17 assists in Denver’s 132-123 win over the Sacramento Kings. This is only the second time in NBA history that a player has had at least 35 points, 20 rebounds, and 15 assists in a single game. The other was Wilt Chamberlain way back in 1968. Jokic punctuated the performance with a three quarters court length shot as time expired in the third quarter.
The Nuggets improved to 28-16 on the year, fourth in the Western Conference.
