For $10,000: ULTIMATE TRIVIA QUESTION: What household appliance is displayed in a protective case at Nike’s World Headquarters in Oregon

ANSWER: show

Leszek got it right. He wins $10,000 and he will be back tomorrow to try for a second win. Regular Jeopardy! viewers will be sure to remember Leszek, who was last seen in the 2014 Battle of the Decades. Even though Leszek had the misfortune to go up against Roger Craig in his quarter-final, he still made it to the semi-finals, only to have to compete against Brad Rutter. If anyone can make it to the 3-game finish line and get on the Master Mind team, I’d put my money on Leszek!!

As soon as I saw his name, I wondered if it was the same Leszek who was on Jeopardy. It’s the only time I’ve ever heard of that name before. Thanks for mentioning it, VJ.

  2. Jacob Ska says:

Leszek Pawlowicz was easily recognizable from Jeopardy Battle of Decades and Jeopardy Ultimate Tournament of Champions. Wasn’t surprised at him winning the tiebreaker question. Expect Ken Jennings to show up tomorrow although Ryan gave him a tough time today. Must see TV for me tomorrow.

    • VJ says:

So crazy! I was just thinking of Leszek the week I put up that Hard Geography quiz, with the 3 “P” capitals in Africa. He was acing the African capitals category in the 5-5-2014 game, even beating Roger on one. Then he hit the $2000 clue: “This capital city is on Cape Verde peninsula but not in the country of Cape Verde”, and he thought it was Cape Verde’s capital.

Also, I had “plumbum” on the list of clues yesterday in Lindsey’s other games.

According to my online guide, today and tomorrow are the last games of this season of Master Minds. So if Leszek wins both games, we’ll have to wait until Season 2 to see him on the other side of the screen.

      • Jacob Ska says:

VJ,aren’t there 65 episodes for this season? In other words, wouldn’t Thursday & Friday be the last 2 days? If Leszek wins 3 games wouldn’t his appearances be Wednesday (today), Thursday (tomorrow), and Friday?

You wrote “according to my guide, today and tomorrow are the last games of this season of Master Minds.”

        • VJ says:

Yes, Jacob. I meant Thursday and Friday. Sorry about that. Lately, I keep getting mixed up on what day it is, esp if I am overtired! . 😮
