Madison Bumgarner Wins Seventh Straight as Giants Keep Rolling
Back on April 20th, San Francisco Giants lefthander Madison Bumgarner dropped a 2-1 decision to the Arizona Diamondbacks for his second straight loss and dropping his 2016 record to 1-2 with a 3.91 ERA. He hasn’t lost since. On June 14th, Bumgarner pitched eight innings, allowing two runs on four hits while striking out eight as the Giants beat the visiting Milwaukee Brewers 3-2. It was the seventh straight win for Bumgarner, who improved to 8-2 with a 1.91 ERA.
Bumgarner is in typical form and that bodes well for the Giants. After the win over the Brewers, San Francisco (40-26) was in 1st place in the National League West, six games ahead of the second place Colorado Rockies. The Giants seem to favor even numbered years. They won the World Series in 2010, 2012, and 2014, so perhaps another championship is in the immediate future.
