LSU Quarterback Jayden Daniels has Record Setting Day in Win over Florida

LSU quarterback did it all in his team’s 52-35 win over Florida, and by that we mean he was an absolute machine on the field. Daniels completed 17 of 26 passes for 372 yards and three touchdowns, with no interceptions. He also rushed 12 times for 234 yards and two touchdowns. That adds up to 606 total yards for Daniels; he’s the first quarterback in FBS history to pass for at least 350 yards and rush for 200 in a game. One of his touchdown runs was for 85 yards, which set a school record for longest touchdown run by a quarterback.

Daniels began his college career at Arizona State and was there from 2019-2021. He he transferred to LSU of the 2022 season. In 10 games this season, Daniels has passed for 3,164 yards and 30 touchdowns with just four interceptions. He’s also rushed for 918 yards and eight touchdowns. The 15th ranked Tigers (5-2 in the SEC, 7-3 overall) have two regular season games left against Georgia State of the Sun Belt Conference, and Texas A&M of the SEC. Both are 6-4 and unranked, and Daniels should be able to compile some decent stats in those games, but even if he’s just average, he should be one of the top contenders for the Heisman Trophy.
