Hillary Clinton Proud of Not Giving Trumps a Wedding Gift

We really don’t like it when a report spins a story into something that it wasn’t, but by saying that Hillary Clinton is proud of not giving the Trumps a wedding gift, we don’t think we are doing that. She certainly looked like she was proud of herself when she responded to a question about what she got Donald and Melania Trump for a wedding gift. “Nothing,” Hillary said, and repeated that one word with a big smile on her face.

There have already been various versions of how Hillary and Bill Clinton came to attend the Trumps’ 2005 wedding at the Mar-A-Lago estate in Florida. Hillary was actually asked this very question before by Jimmy Kimmel last November. At the time, she jokingly replied “I went to his wedding,” implying that her presence was a gift in and of itself. Hillary has also said that she went “for the entertainment.”

According to Trump, he donated a lot of money to the Clinton Foundation, and therefore the Clintons could not refuse his invitation.

We’re just wondering why she decided to say she gave “nothing” at this point. How does it make her look better? It would have been better for her to stick with her original “I don’t remember” rather than smugly saying “nothing.” Perhaps the best option would have been to just refuse to answer, saying that it’s personal. It’s a tacky question to begin with.

    American politics are seriously embarrassing.

Today’s “Quote of the day” kind of dovetails with this sentiment.

Thank you for hanging out with me!, but seriously, if I get started on this, VJ will have to put me in a time out.

We certainly don’t wanna see you on a time out, lol.

You may have seen my previous reply, but thanks again for the Early Cuyler reference. I had a good laugh reading about the character.

          Always a pleasure Cece.
There is an interesting documentary called Pay 2 Play, if you’re interested in the American politics of today.
A little less heart-breaking, or maybe so in a different way, are the Squidbillies on YouTube. It is quite possible that I find this humorous from the time I spent traveling that region.
