Golden State Warriors Come Back from 23 Point Deficit, Win 13th Straight

The defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors were off to one of the best starts in history, taking their 12-0 record into Los Angeles for a game with the Clippers on November 19th. The Clippers scored 41 points in the first quarter, and it looked like the winning streak would come to an end as L.A. built a 23 point first half lead over Golden State.

Well, not so fast. Golden State roared back in the second half, outscoring the Clippers 70-49. When the dust had settled, the Clippers were left scratching their heads saying “what just happened?”

What happened was Stephen Curry (40 points, 11 rebounds), Klay Thompson (25 points), Draymond Green (19 points, 9 assists, 6 rebounds), lights out free throw and three point shooting, and the Clippers’ offense tailing off after an explosive start. This kind of comeback sends the message that no lead is safe against these guys.

The Warriors won’t have to wait long for their chance at a 14-0 start; they host the Chicago Bulls November 20th.
