The general consensus around here was that this was a pretty easy week of Final Jeopardy! clues. It’s hard to pick the easiest one, but certainly Thursday’s clue was the most recent. The film based on the book won the Best Picture Oscar in 2014 (as well as Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Supporting Actress). Here’s something extra from IMDB’s FAQs: “Northup’s memoir was also the source for the 1984 made-for-TV movie, American Playhouse: Solomon Northup’s Odyssey (#4.3) (1984).”

Stew Latwin arrived on Monday and defeated last week’s 3x champ, Kelly Bayles. On Wednesday, Hunter Appler took over and was a 3x champ by the end of the week. Stew got the biggest one-day haul ($29,201) on Tuesday. Hunter biggest one-day win ($26,799) was on Friday

From JBuzz: Alex Trebek gave an audience member a tie that was given to him by the late Phyllis Diller. In the beginning, you can see that was on Wednesday (Stew is at the champ’s podium and Hunter is next). That was a great gift and it was accompanied by some Trebek humor that we’re sure Phyllis Diller would love.
