Here are the Final Jeopardy questions and answers for the week of May 6 through May 10, 2019, the first week of the 2019 Teachers Tournament.

Mon, May 6 – Correct answers: 3

Tue, May 7 – Correct answers: 1
TEACHERS: As a teenager, this woman regained her sight thanks to 2 surgeries in 1881 & 1882 show

Wed, May 8 – Correct answers: 0
WORDS FROM THE COMICS: Used to describe secrecy during WWII, this 2-word term had its psychological meaning popularized by Charles Schulz show

Thu, May 9 – Correct answers: 1
THE COLD WAR: The Cold War became entrenched in the mid-1950s after the formation of these 2 rival military alliances show

Fri, May 10 – Correct answers: 2
U.S. STATES: This state entered the Union in 1820 after separating from another state that began with the same 2 letters show

Monday’s clue was the easiest, in our view. Wednesday’s was the hardest and the results bear those conclusions out. The two clues that ended with a single solve were really not that difficult. It doesn’t prove anything but, going by the predictions on those days, no one anticipated those results.

In any event, these FJ!’s were a lot easier than the clues in the 2018 Teacher’s Tournament.

These 9 contestants are guaranteed a minimum $10,000 for making the semi-finals. All the players who didn’t make the cut went home with $5,000. We will have a complete prize list on next week’s recap.

    @William, it’s probably a pretty safe bet, but I’m picking Benjamin and Francois to win their semi-final matches, unless they are in the same game. Then it could be tense!

    @John Christian, if it’s that bad that you have to type in all caps, don’t watch it.

    I’m happy that this was a better 1st week of this year’s JEOPARDY! Teachers Tournament than last year.
