So, I was reminded of Ben’s annoying (to me) drawing out answers of which he wasn’t sure. That just grated on me.
I was 1/3 on DD, and got half of FJ (Wilson). I SHOULD have gotten Cleveland, but I said Benjamin Harrison. Why should I have gotten Cleveland? Because, before POTUS, Stephen Grover Cleveland was the Sheriff of Erie County, NY, and Mayor of Buffalo. I live in Erie County, and south of Buffalo.
But, alas, I couldn’t recall D and R.
Concur on Clare; she was quite charismatic and engaging.
Tough but gettable FJ that I should have known. Got the harder one, Cleveland, but spaced out on WW. (Our local HS took his name off its building a few years ago because of his alleged racism.)
Like several other teen/college winners, Claire was out of her element versus two heavyweights. She had a pretty signature on her podium, though.
The DDs and all the listed stumpers also blanked me. Why the John Jay/1790 clue was worth $1000 is a mystery to me. One of the $2000 clues, I forget which one, was also a softball.
Ben Chan began the game by sliding into the red, and then started to build momentum quickly during DJ.. In fact, I thought that Ben stood a very good chance of winning the game. Well, I didn’t do well at all in the game, but at least the FJ was a freebie.
All 3 DDs were missed resulted our eleventh skunking of the season. I hope William Weyser will say darn those daily doubles to Ben.
Not only to him, but Shane missed a Daily Double, and things didn’t work out for Claire.
That was a great game by both Ben and Shane. Claire received a difficult draw against these two players. She came so close to making it to Final but came up short. You can see that Claire tried to buzz in on that final clue but was beaten by Shane on the last clue.
Yeah, seriously, I was hoping Shane couldn’t be more specific on the auction item so Claire could get it. The way they were going at it though, Ben probably would have jumped right on it.
I hope this isn’t the last we see of Claire Sattler. She deserved better than this. Someday, she will regain her confidence, and make it tough on her opponents. Today is not that day. Not only that, I want something to go right for a celebrity today, and it will tonight for either Ana Navarro, Dave Friedberg or Yvette Nicole Brown. Not so much for Michelle Trachtenberg, because earlier today, she passed away at the way too young age of 39.
Not only that, Gene Hackman passed away at the age of 95, along with his wife and his dog.
