WHO ARE LORD BALTIMORE (CALVERT) AND WILLIAM PENN?

The basis for the boundary dispute between the descendants of William Penn and George Calvert began back in 1632, when England’s Charles I granted a land charter to George Calvert’s son Cecil, 2nd Lord Baltimore, for a colony designated as the land between Virginia and the 40th parallel. Fast forward to 1681, when King Charles II granted the land to the north of Maryland to William Penn and, in another charter, instructed Penn to create a city on the river. The junction of the Schuykill and Delaware Rivers was chosen for to build the city of Philadelphia; however, this area had already been granted to Lord Baltimore. It would be another 80+ years before Charles Mason and Jeremiah Dixon were hired to resolve this boundary dispute once and for all. Ben went with George III and Cromwell. He bet and lost it all.

Mackenzie jokingly went with Mason and Dixon, who were in the clue. She bet nothing and finished with $9,000.

Kevin wrote down Washington and Adams. He bet nothing but won the game with $16,000. Kevin Walsh is a ToC semi-finalist. Tune in tomorrow for the last semi-final game of the ToC between Sam Kavanaugh, Andy Wood, and Veronica Vichit-Vadakan.
