  1. Otto says:

On her first Daily Double, Angela with $400 at first said the timeworn “true Daily Double,” but Ken prompted her to explain whether she meant that, or to go for the “bet up to $1000,” which she did. Lucky for Angela, Ken was on tonight. I’ve seen Mayim skip over these distinctions before. That said, I don’t mean to “trash” Mayim by pointing out the obvious.

    • VJ says:

Otto, I don’t see why it is necessary to point this out at all. For one thing, everyone knows that Mayim was a total rookie compared to Ken. The first time Mayim did that, she should have been informed about it and given some support to help her incorporate it into her hosting duties. For another, she’s not even involved in this game so why bring her up at all? Just enjoy the show.

FYI, to me the perfect co-hosts for the show would be Buzzy Cohen and Brooke Burns. I bet Brooke Burns would be the favorite if they got her on there.

      • rhonda says:

Oh, yes, Buzzy would be so very perfect!! And I know a certain Grape Nut would absolutely agree with you about Brooke Burns!! I think he has a slight crush on her lol.

      • JJ says:

@ VJ – I couldn’t possibly agree with you more… what a dynamic duo the dapper & witty Buzzy Cohen and the charming & delightful Brooke Burns would be. Both are charismatic, intelligent and their down-to-Earth styles would bond handsomely with the potentially nervous contestants participating in the game.
Please note that I’m fine w/ Mayim & Ken getting the jobs – they’ve both earned their stripes – but Team Burns & Cohen would be OUTSTANDING as well!

  2. Howard says:

Very good group tonight. Competitive game, not a ton of stumpers or wrong responses.
I salivated when I saw the FJ category, then went down in flames with Tina Turner.
Guessed right on the “atomic mass” clue and that was about it. Knew that river in Pittsburgh–3 Rivers Stadium was at the conjunction of the ones in the clue–just couldn’t get it in time. That was an “either you know it or you don’t” question–not really guessable.

    • Jason says:

I went to the boards saying “Ah, easy – who is Joan Jett?” I was dead-set sure. Of course – “wah wah”!

  3. William Weyser says:

Notice that if Angela was the only 1 to get it right, she & Ed would have tied at $17,399, and they would have had to go to a tiebreaker, just like last Monday. Just now, I noticed.

  4. Rick says:

Regarding the ‘Eastern European History’ category, I would have given the professor credit for naming the Berlin Wall, and even though I came up with the Iron Curtain.

Anyways, I went with Diana Ross in FJ.

    • Howard says:

I forget the exact wording of the clue, but I believe they sought the exact phrase used by Churchill in his speech, which was Iron Curtain.

      • VJ says:

Yes, that’s what it asked for, Howard.

Here’s the clue: “Winston Churchill gave the speech that mentioned this ideological barrier that separated Eastern Europe”

  5. Lou says:

This was my favorite final jeopardy clue and I am a huge fan of her music. Congrats to Ed winning today.

  6. Kevin Cheng says:

We are now 4 games away until the season finale.
