WHAT IS NATO?
Article 5 of NATO’s Washington Treaty begins: “The Parties agree that an armed attack against one or more of them in Europe or North America shall be considered an attack against them all….” In “Invoking Article 5,” Edgar Buckley, then Asst. Secretary General for Defense Planning and Operations, Edgar Buckley relates how NATO came to invoke Article 5 the day after the 9/11/2001 terrorist attacks in the U.S.A. I think Avi is gonna win.
I’m rooting for Ryan Presler.
Was anyone else impressed by Avi’s non-profit dental program or his (winning) choice of science project? These students restore my faith in humankind. The scores reflect a love of learning that is the foundation of everything. Hooray for their teachers and parents as well. We need more like them.
Great scores by the finalists today, I can’t wait to see who wins tomorrow to determine the 100K winner. The United nations wasn’t a bad guess. No triple stumpers in round one. I bet james will be proud watching these teens perform brilliantly.
There were 2 triple stumpers in the first round, Lou, the first two clues picked in the youtube category. One of them came with an image so I put them on the other post.
