Despite some erroneous responses and DD flubs, that was a heckuva game. All 3 played well. Not sure what Helen’s $5861 wager meant, but $5801 was the minimum she needed to wager. Robert wagered enough to beat Helen but not Tristan. Final came to me quickly, even though I never saw the play. Growing up in NYC in the 60s exposed me to Broadway theater. I crashed on the DDs, though. Those last two were tough.
I thought some of the $2000 clues were a bit easier than I’d expect. I knew the 20th century painter, the Sarah Palin reference, the divorced dad status, the Rift Valley lake, the SF area lighthouse
I’d like to see Tristan be less reckless with the DD bets. He threw his lead away with that 5K bet on the last DD. He was lucky this time but I think he will last longer if he doesn’t take chances like a big bet when there aren’t enough clues left to repair possible damage.
This was a dramatic final round. Tristan doubled up but Robert did not. This would have been a tiebreaker if Robert went all-in and if he did, we would have a tie because Helen missed.
We’ll get that tiebreaker someday. Not today.
