Ben was right. Henry Hudson is alliterative, William Baffin is not.
Hi, Alan — Granted the clue was confusing as written, but it does not say the explorer’s name is alliterative — it’s the Bay’s name that’s alliterative. Therefore, Hudson Bay doesn’t work but Baffin Bay does.
Ben was sure up and down with his wrong answers. I thought he might have known the Ephron book (also a film, later) about her failed marriage to Carl Bernstein.
Was unfamiliar with GAME, figured it out quickly, but wasn’t sure if they meant I-95 (which of course runs from Florida north) or something else.
3 smart people didn’t know the name of the holy city? Or the okapi relative?
Having followed baseball for 60+ years, I did know the former ball maker.
That sure was a crazy game! After Ben lost $10K on those 2 DDs, he lost another $2K on the 13th Double Jeopardy! clue about the Queen’s architect. The scores after that were Ben $5,600, Erica $4,400 and Chris $2,200 — and Ben still pulled off a runaway!!
After steak and some beer, I wasn’t looking closely. I parsed the Georgia and Maine, but I went with I-95. Irony is, I went to college right on the App Trail. Shoulda gotten it.
The FJ was a breeze. As expected, Ben dominated today’s game, but not by the usual lopsided margin.
What a week it has been, Hannah Wilson dominated last week and this week Ben Chan dominated and he ran away all this week. It’s been a tough week for the challengers. Maybe next week, the challengers will have better luck in order to have a chance to take down Ben.
