The Final Jeopardy question (5/14/2025) in the category “South American Cities” was:
GPS technology has determined that a popular monument near this capital was built about 800 feet too far to the south

TWO of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.
WHAT IS QUITO?
The first of Enjoy Travel’s “7 Interesting Facts about Middle of the Earth in Ecuador” states that the monument called La mitad del mundo (Middle of the Earth) is located in the San Antonio parish of the canton of Quito, 16 miles north of the center of Quito, Ecuador’s capital. No. 6 addresses the findings that the monument isn’t really at 0 latitude: “A reading by one of the most commonly used GPS devices places the Monument to the Equator about 243.84 metres (800 feet) south of the Equator.”

Jen got it right. She bet $2,401 and finished with $6,401.
Andrew went with Buenos Aires. That cost him $1,999 and left him with $6,001.
Brandon also got it right. He bet $8,000 and won the game with $16,400. Brandon Monsman is the new Jeopardy! champ.
Reversal: ($2000) Uproarious noise emanating from a disagreement over how a sentence was constructed – Ken was looking for “grammar clamor” and rejected Jen’s “grammar yammer”; the judges gave Jen the thumbs up (as you probably suspected they would).

($1600) Some in Jerusalem violated the 10 Commandments by bearing this, saying they heard Jesus planning to destroy the temple

(Didn’t see the show, was traveling) If Jen wagered $2401, then she must have ended DJ with $6000 and not $2000. Of the DDs and FJ, only the first DD went my way.
Knew the Washington peninsula (I wasn’t too far from it Wednesday); sparrow bow and arrow; ankle shackle. The 2E clues looked pretty easy, although I thought the lustful person was spelled lech, short for lecher.
It was another splendid game, and Brandon became the new champion. Anyways, I performed about average in the game, and I also went with ‘Buenos Aires’ in FJ. Well, the ‘Peron’ era couldn’t escape my mind so I ultimately decided to go with the Argentinian capital. Perhaps Jen and Brandon had previously visited Ecuador so they could have maintained an advantage in that regard. As for me, the only country that I had visited south of the border was Mexico, and primarily in the state of Guerrero. In fact, I had vacationed over there several times in the past.
Jen originally had 2,000 but was awarded 4,000 more so she went into Final with 6,000.
Well, actually, Jen had 5,600 when she got that clue and it should have been ruled correct right then and there.
