Poor Divya never stood a chance, and her botched response of New Mexico for the megacompany clue sealed her fate. I got my share of clues but couldn’t come up with the DDs in time. They weren’t impossible at all. Got the biblical botany tree and the Duplass show, which I’ve never seen. Couldn’t come up with the name of that Netflix show in the alloted time. Thought both one-letter-different stumpers were easy. I didn’t know Final but that was a great clue. Didn’t know how he died, just the location.
That rattan clue brought back a bad memory. If my left-hand opponent had said “rattan” instead of “wicker” late in round 2, I’d have won the game with $8400.
That’s what happens when one finds oneself in DIvya’s predicament sometimes. You’re so desperate to get a buzz in, you blurt out the first thing that registered from the clue.
I got a decent number of the stumpers, including the one letter different clues, and of course, the bane of the Man of Steel’s existence. (My father used to accuse us of having ‘funny book educations’ if he saw us reading comic books.)
I only got the last 2 DDs.
