I too agree that the third contestant should have been credited for just giving the initials but the first one should not have been credited anything.
They should not have accepted “Sears Tower” in the answer that showed the picture of the WILLIS TOWER. It hasn’t been the Sears Tower since 2009.
Respectfully disagree. I would accept either but the real name that will endure is Sears Tower. Like I will never use forced name of 40th POTUS to refer to Washington National Airport (George Washington is more than bad enough!), for another example. Egotist greedy capitalists who foisted another name on Chicago landmark should not be meekly rewarded with recognition! 🙂
Sabrina was the winner- there is no way Jeff should have been credited $1200. Bring her back.
Great to see another space and astronomy clue! Reassuring that it was a triple-get in Final Jeopardy.
Second day in row that Alex Trebek went to contestants for end credits. Is the explanation that champ of two days has some sort of disability–the pastor is only element in common other than host. Any insight or speculation please?
I agree with you. Love Astronomy.
I also noticed Alex going to the contestants at the end.
Jeff explained on JBoard that he has a back problem that prevents him from standing unassisted for very long. He was sitting down behind the podium.

Thanks for the info. Figured it must be something like that.
46/56 here. Another oddity: After the Goodson/Gorbachev clue TS, the second clue of the DJ! round, Alex went to Sabrina instead of Jeff, even though Jeff had given the last correct response (the War of 1812 DD)
Thanks for that — I thought I was imagining it. LOL!!
My opinion on that reversal is Jeff was just plain wrong. I can see how they might have thought the clue was asking for what the shared initials were but I can’t see how anyone thought one last name would work.
I agree, only Paul’s answer of MG should have been accepted, not Jeff’s..
I agree too. I mean three. 🙂
I also agree. It would have been wrong even if they only wanted Mark Goodson’s name because Jeff said Goodman.
Agree!!!
I guess their thinking was that Jeff wouldn’t have rung in if they had originally accepted MG, but I don’t agree with their thinking.
True, Rhonda, that is the reason. I remembered another game where two players gave answers that were ruled wrong, but only one got a reversal and I even managed to find it.
It was on September 18, 2014. The answer was Sorcerer’s Apprentice. The first guy said Faust, the second said Magician’s Apprentice and that was reversed, but not the Faust one because he rang in first with it.
Wow. Can’t wait to see this game. Should be exciting to watch.
@vj, thanks for the hard work you put into the recaps. They are superb.
Thanks, Jacob. What a nice thing to say :):)
